Upholding the Spirit of 1989 Democracy Movement, Promoting Constitutional Democracy in China
— The 2026 Global Internet Video Conference Commemorating the 37th Anniversary of the “June 4th Massacre”
This year marks the 37th anniversary of the “June 4th” Massacre in China. The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) regime has been in power for nearly 77 years, yet the totalitarian and decaying system in China persists. Under the intimidation of violence by the CCP, freedom, democracy, and human rights remain shrouded in darkness, with no visible path toward liberation. The Chinese people have yet to break free from the millennia-old shackles of “rule by family” and “rule by Party,” which would allow them to step into the enlightened sunshine of “rule by the people.” Wei Jingsheng’s 1979 call for “political democratization” remains the guiding direction for the Chinese people as always — yesterday, today, and tomorrow. The spirit of 1989 democracy movement, serves as the genesis of the Chinese Dream and the Chinese Soul — a hope and driving force that flows eternally through the bloodstream of the Chinese nation.
As the 37th anniversary of “June 4th Massacre” approaches, the steadfast activists of the Chinese pro-democracy movement stand as rational and resolute seekers of change. Over the past 37 years, the overseas Chinese pro-democracy movement has evolved into a vibrant force — one characterized by “an unfurling banner, an unbroken ranks, an unceasing voice, and undiminished pressure.” In recent years, amidst a new wave of emigration from China, a multitude of young and promising pro-democracy activists have emerged. New anti-authoritarian teams and organizations have sprung up like bamboo shoots after rain — forming in rapid succession, continuously expanding, injecting fresh momentum, and gathering ever-increasing force. We look forward to seeing all these clenched fists unite into a single, cohesive force — sounding the rallying call for this latest wave of the constitutional democracy movement in China. Our aim is to embark upon the path of transforming and rebuilding Chinese society — specifically, to end the one-party totalitarian dictatorship and establish a new China founded upon constitutional democracy.
Given that cities and regions across the globe will be hosting commemorative events for the June 4th Massacre, and in order to avoid scheduling conflicts while ensuring the sustained operation of our global platform, we propose the following: — the 2026 Global Internet Video Conference Commemorating the 37th Anniversary of the “June 4th Massacre” — titled “Upholding the Spirit of 1989 Democracy Movement, Promoting Constitutional Democracy in China” — be held in advance on June 3rd. 2026.
