Thanks for inviting me to this conference. Ladies and gentlemen, friends, and fellow fighters for freedom, Today, we gather to remember the courageous Tibetans who, on this very day in 1959, rose up against oppression, CCP China. They stood against a brutal force, demanding their right to exist as a free people, to protect their culture, their faith, and their dignity. Though their voices were suppressed with violence, their spirit remain unbroken. Their struggle did not end in 1959—it continues today, and so does our solidarity with Tibet.
As I am here today, I speak not only as a supporter of Tibet but also as someone from Hong Kong, a place that has faced dictator’s rule. We, have seen our freedoms being taken away, our voices silenced, and our people imprisoned for fighting for democracy. We understand what it means to resist, to refuse to be erased, and to keep fighting.
Today, the people of Taiwan, too, stand on the frontlines, resisting growing threats against their freedom. And today, in Ukraine, we see a nation fighting for its very survival against an invasion by a dictator aimed at crushing its sovereignty. These struggles are not isolated. The dictators of today—whether in Beijing, Moscow, or elsewhere—are watching each other, learning from each other, and supporting one another.
The battle in Tibet is connected to the battle in Hong Kong. The resistance in Ukraine is tied to the fight for Taiwan. These are not just regional issues; they are warnings to the world. If we do not stand firm against oppression in one place, they will get together oppressing people asking for freedom. We must ask ourselves: how many more places must fall before the world wakes up? How many more lives must be lost before we take a stand? Dictators win because of silence, inaction, on the belief that the world will turn away. That is why we must do the opposite. We must speak louder, act bolder, and show them that those who believe in freedom are stronger together. Thats the reason why we have to stand together, supporting each other, including Tibet, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Ukraine and those who are fighting against a dictator.
To the people of Tibet, to my fellow Hongkongers, to our brothers and sisters in Taiwan, Ukraine, and everywhere tyranny seeks to crush the human spirit—I say this: You are not alone. Your fight is our fight. And as long as you stand, we will stand with you. The world now is now having a heavy storm. The supposed beacon of democracy, the U.S. is no longer supporting democracy anymore. We must be very careful, stand up, voice out and we shall keep a very close eye on what is happening. Be prepared. May the world hear our voices today. May we never stop resisting. And may one day, Tibet, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Ukraine, and all peoples in mainland China being oppressed stand free. That’s all I want to share with you today. Thank you.
