最近媒體上傳說習近平將下台。不管消息是否準確，但這的確是中外各界人們的願望。猶如當年的口號「天下苦秦久矣」，現在的口號是「天下苦習久矣」。不但中國人民希望習近平下台，各國也都希望習近平下台，估計習近平政權下台確實不遠了。
但是，習近平下台就萬事大吉了嗎？不一定。習近平下台並不等於一黨專政的體制結束，並不等於民主自由的體制成功。這還存在著兩種可能性：或者走向民主，或者繼續一黨專政。這個過程存在著不確定性，取決於各方的願望和力量的博弈。
現在中共的鎮壓異常嚴酷。中國國內的社會一片沈寂，似乎沒有異議人士的呼聲了。但這只是被壓抑的狀況，時不時還是有瞬間爆發的事件傳出。這說明民間蓄積的能量很強大。一旦時機合適，將會產生爆發性的事變。
另一方面中共政權內部的危機越來越大，整人遍及黨政軍各方面。最近幾年已經打擊到軍隊最高層，產生軍事政變的可能性越來越大。即使少數高層軍官們還能夠忍受，中下層軍人的思想情緒變化，也是最大的不穩定因素。
一旦星星之火燃燒起來 ，我們海外民運將成為促進革命的重要力量。我們從現在起就要做好準備，利用各種活動促進國際與國內的變化，為將來走向民主自由的制度添磚加瓦。

Speech at the Press Conference Regarding Xi Jinping’s US Visit and China’s Future Hosted by the Congress on China’s Future

Recent media reports suggest that Xi Jinping is set to step down. Regardless of the accuracy of these rumors, this outcome is indeed the shared desire of people both within China and across the world. Much like the ancient slogan “The world has long suffered under the Qin Dynasty,” the prevailing sentiment today is that “the world has long suffered under Xi Jinping.” It is not only the Chinese people who wish for the end of Xi Jinping’s regime; nations everywhere share this wish, and it is likely that the fall of the Xi regime is indeed drawing near.
However, does the end of the Xi Jinping’s regime guarantee that all will be well? Not necessarily. The end of Xi’s regime does not equate to the end of the one-party dictatorship of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), nor does it ensure the success of a system based on democracy and freedom. Two possibilities remain: a transition toward democracy or the continuation of one-party dictatorship. This process is fraught with uncertainty, which will depend on the wills of various parties and the interplay of their respective forces.
The current repression by the CCP is exceptionally harsh. A heavy silence hangs over Chinese society, and the voices of dissidents seem to have vanished. Yet, this is merely a state of suppression. Sporadic and sudden outbursts of unrest still emerge from time to time. This demonstrates the immense energy accumulating among the populace in China. Once the right moment arrives, explosive events are bound to occur.
Meanwhile, the crisis within the CCP regime is deepening, with purges extending across the Party, the government, and the military. In recent years, the crackdown has reached the highest echelons of the military, making the prospect of a military coup increasingly likely. Even if a handful of senior officers remain tolerant, the shifting sentiments among mid- and low-ranking military personnel represent the biggest source of instability in China.
Once the spark of revolution ignites, we in the overseas democracy movement will become a vital force in driving that revolution forward. We must prepare ourselves now, leveraging various activities to foster change both internationally and domestically, and laying the groundwork for a future system rooted in democracy and freedom.
